Berthollet

In 2015, Dan received an artist-in-residence position at the Tufts Center for European Studies in Talloires France. Here he made sci-art celebrating the life and science of Claude Louis Berthollet, a chemist who invented bleach and wrote the first treatises on dye chemistry and physical chemistry.  He did over 100 works using only dyes that Berthollet wrote about from representational depictions of him and his village to highly abstract works using the same color palette.  These works have been exhibited internationally and some are currently on display at the Hirsh Library at Tufts University School of Medicine.
