Dance and Live Performances

Dan has had the rare privilege of sketching dance rehearsals partnering with two excellent modern dance companies: Urbanity(Boston) and David Dorfmann Dance (New York) resulting in two shows to benefit these companies. Rehearsals have an amazing energy and Dan has worked to capture the spontaneous action and joy of movement of the dancers. He has been fortunate to sketch a diversity of dancers including tribal dancers from the Yukon and workshops for Parkinson’s patients. Like Dance, live performances in general have an energy and dynamism.  Dan works to depict the moment during plays and concerts including Kabuki theater in Japan and the Passion Play in Oberammergau Germany.
