Year of the Quantum

The United Nations declared 2025, the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology to commemorate 100 years since the groundbreaking papers of Heisenberg (1925), Schrödinger (1926), and Dirac (1928). This series uses the first pages of these papers as cut outs amidst a background of abstract colors laid down with biological stains from my own laboratory. These cutouts play with the strange ideas of quantum physics such as the mathematical formulations as particle and wave were equivalent explanations of the behavior of electrons and Dirac equation that unified their work with the Special Theory of Relativity by Einstein (1905). Some of the works use the images of Schrödinger’s cat as a thought experiment (and relatable image) that helped physicists to know the unknowable.
